Finance ERP UAT

Your ERP can pass every script and still fail month-end.

We help finance teams validate the real processes behind an ERP go-live — posting, controls, reconciliation, and close — before the first live transaction reaches the ledger.

Why finance UAT is different

A completed transaction is not proof that the books are right.

Finance ERP UAT has to confirm more than whether a user can submit a journal, raise a purchase order, or run a report. It has to prove that the resulting entries are accurate, controlled, reconcilable, and usable at period end.

The defects that matter often sit between modules, entities, approval rules, and accounting periods. They surface when real teams run realistic volumes and exceptions — not when a clean demonstration follows a single happy path.

Accounting integrity

Every finance scenario needs a business result and an accounting result. A successful workflow still fails if it posts to the wrong account, entity, period, or tax treatment.

Controls that work in practice

Approval hierarchies, budget checks, period locks, and segregation of duties need testing with the roles and exceptions finance teams will use after go-live.

Close-ready evidence

A credible go-live decision includes reconciliations, close simulations, and documented treatment of open risks — not just a test execution percentage.

What we validate

The processes that decide whether finance can operate on day one.

Record-to-report

General ledger postings, allocations, depreciation, accruals, reversals, revaluation, subledger reconciliation, and a complete period-end close.

Procure-to-pay

Budget availability, approvals, purchase orders, goods and service receipts, three-way match, invoice exceptions, payment runs, and supplier reconciliation.

Intercompany & consolidation

Cross-entity transactions, transfer pricing, currency translation, intercompany clearing, eliminations, and consolidated reporting.

Tax & statutory reporting

Tax determination, exemptions, withholding, reporting extracts, period mapping, and reconciliation to the trial balance across each legal entity.

Controls & finance access

Segregation of duties, approval delegation, period locking, audit trails, emergency access, and the role combinations that create control gaps.

Master data & integrations

Chart of accounts, suppliers, customers, cost centres, projects, banks, and the interfaces that move finance data between connected systems.

What to find before go-live

The errors that do not appear in a clean test run.

Finance UAT should deliberately test the conditions that make posting, controls, and reconciliation fail when the business is under way.

Period-end close

Foreign-currency revaluation posts to the correct gain-and-loss account for one entity but the wrong account for a subsidiary — an error that appears only when the first close is run across the group.

Procure-to-pay

Three-way match accepts an invoice above the agreed tolerance after a partial receipt, leaving Accounts Payable to discover an overpayment during reconciliation.

Intercompany

An intercompany purchase order creates the originating-side entries but does not generate the corresponding elimination data, producing an out-of-balance consolidation.

Budget control

Budget availability is checked at invoice posting rather than purchase-order approval, so commitments exceed the approved spend before finance sees the exception.

Access & approvals

A role change gives an approver the ability to create and approve the same journal, bypassing the segregation-of-duties control that finance relies on at audit.

The case for business-led UAT

A green test report does not make a ledger correct.

Finance users need to run the sequences they will own in production, with realistic data and exceptions, and verify the accounting result. That is how a programme finds whether the business can actually close the books after go-live.
